Jim Powers

Director + Cinematographer

THE VISUAL: Lifelong camera junkie and award-winning cinematographer, Jim began shooting in the womb and has since worked on blockbuster features and network television. If you’ve seen it, chances are Jim was somehow involved. Jim’s natural sense of framing paired with his technical expertise defines the West Field style.

Jim went blind in one eye after a skiing accident, so he literally sees the world as a camera does.

Steve Powers

Director + Producer

THE STORY: A director since his early days making home movies with Jim, Steve works to define the narrative of each shot. His passion for stories started young, making movies with his brother in his favorite spot; a field tucked away in the woods— west of their childhood home. Those early experiences remain the driving force of West Field's vision today.

THE LOOK: “Stegs” has been alongside Jim and Steve since the early days. From production design, prop and display builds to high-concept direction, or commercial highlights to nature documentary production, he works side by side with the Powers Brothers to create fully realized projects. 

No shot is impossible when John is involved. Seriously, try it.
